Jody Shagena

My career began at a residential treatment center for adolescents as a Mental Health Technician. It was there that I knew I wanted to affect young people, specifically those that might have greater challenges in life. From there, I began working in the public school system, where I have been for the past 13 years, only making one detour - a short stint working as a Job Coach and Employment Specialist with those that have a serious mental illness. Over the last 13 years, I have worked 0 of them as a Paraprofessional in the Chandler Unified School District in the self-contained setting and the last 3 years as a Transition Specialist here at FUSD. I am excited to work as the Family Resource Coordinator! My goal is to build healthy relationships with families while providing the necessary support that will give our students the best possible outcome in their educational experience.
