As another school year ends, the Florence Unified School District (FUSD) is proud to celebrate a year full of meaningful moments, student growth, and big wins, both in and out of the classroom. Did you know that FUSD was chosen as the BEST School District in the East Valley for the second consecutive year?

From academic to athletic victories and inspiring student accomplishments, our campuses have been buzzing with energy, talent, and the joy of learning.

This year’s successes wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing FUSD teachers, supportive staff, district stakeholders, and the partnership of parents like you. Together, we’re building more than just strong students; we’re nurturing confident, curious, and capable young people ready to thrive and be part of a global community.

A New School Model Designed with Your Child in Mind

As we plan for the 2025–2026 school year, we’re excited to share an important update designed to better meet the needs of every learner: FUSD is transitioning from a K–8 model to a more focused and developmentally appropriate structure.

• Elementary Schools: Kindergarten through 6th grade
• Middle Schools: 7th and 8th grade
• High Schools: 9th through 12th grade

Why this change? We’re committed to creating learning spaces where kids feel safe, supported, and challenged at every stage of their academic journey. Separating our younger and older learners gives students room to grow socially and academically with peers in similar stages of development.

Introducing Our New Middle Schools!

We're proud to launch three specialized middle school campuses in the coming year:

• San Tan Mountain Middle School
• Walker Butte Middle School
• Florence Middle School

Each school is purposefully designed for 7th and 8th graders with innovative classrooms, flexible learning areas, and spaces where students can explore new interests, build confidence, and connect with one another. These middle schools will help bridge the gap between elementary and high school, offering the right mix of independence and support during this important time in your child’s life.
