February 18, 2025
Welcome to the next edition of Tech Tuesday Tips & Tricks. Every Tuesday, your EdTech Team will send you quick tips and tricks to help you with your everyday technology use. We will also link them to our Tech Hub in the Classroom by Design Website. If you need more in-depth training on a particular technology, please watch for when I am on your campus or email us (edtech@fusdaz.org), and we can schedule a time.

If you would like to see a particular tip and trick, email us with your suggestion or with something you’d like to learn, and we will feature your suggestion in an upcoming week!
How to Add a Hyperlink to Text in an Outlook Message
When you’re writing an e-mail, it looks so much cleaner when you can insert a link with text that you choose to click on. Here’s a way to make your e-mail look professional when sending links to others. I have listed both the Microsoft Outlook App and Microsoft Outlook Web Instructions.
Step 1 -
Open your Microsoft Outlook App on your taskbar. Create a New E-mail. Write your message with the text you want for your hyperlink. I chose to use, “CLICK HERE” or "LINK". Highlight the text in the body of the e-mail and click Link under Message section at the top of your e-mail.

Note: You can also simply press the Ctrl + K buttons.
An email message to the Educational Technology Team with a link to a form about technology surveys.
Step 2 -
At the top, you’ll see the text that is being displayed. You may change this, if you’d like. Write or paste the web address for where you would like to hyperlink to in the URL box. Press OK when finished.
A web form with the title 'Insert link' has two text fields labeled 'Display as' and 'Web address (URL)' with an 'OK' and 'Cancel' button.

Security Tip of the Week
A tablet computer rests on top of an open book on a wooden desk in a classroom.
Hackers on the internet aren’t the only threat teachers have to worry about. It’s also important to be wary of other staff members and students. Given the right opportunity, someone in the school could log in to your school account or steal your computer or iPad from the classroom.

Start by making sure your passwords are secure. Frequently change your password throughout the school year, and don’t ever write it down. Always make sure to lock your computer when you step away from your desk, and avoid letting students use your computer, especially when it’s logged into your account.

If you have a laptop or tablet you use in the classroom, be sure to keep it in an area where students can’t get to it when you’re not using it. Leaving your device on your desk when you step out for lunch leaves it vulnerable to theft.
