The Florence Unified School District (FUSD) is committed to providing the best possible educational foundation for every child in our community. That commitment starts long before kindergarten. In partnership with the United Way and with generous support from Florence Copper, FUSD is proud to champion the "Better Beginnings" program, a vital initiative designed to nurture our earliest learners from birth to age five.
"Better Beginnings" is more than just a program; it's a partnership with families. The program focuses on building strong relationships with parents and caregivers, providing them with valuable resources, including books, to cultivate a love of reading from the very start. By fostering this early literacy environment, "Better Beginnings" aims to ensure children are well-prepared for their educational journey, making the transition to an FUSD school a seamless and positive experience.
Currently, the program serves 682 children in the Town of Florence and San Tan Valley. The impact of this investment is significant. This program will help prepare the next generation of FUSD students.

Florence Copper has been an instrumental partner, generously donating $15,000 to support the program's mission. Furthermore, Florence Copper employees actively contribute through donations, demonstrating a shared commitment to the future of our children.
